Solar PV Briefly Explained:

A PV system, made of solar panels arranged in an array, produces electricity measured in KWP when exposed to sunlight. The panels generate DC electricity, which is converted to AC electricity by an inverter for use in homes or businesses.

Excess energy can be sold back to the grid at a set tariff or stored in a battery for later use. Alternatively, the Eddi solar diverter can use surplus energy to heat water in a cylinder.

Yes, electricity providers allow selling excess solar energy back to the grid at a predetermined rate, which is typically lower than the standard electricity rate.

Excess solar energy can be directed to a hot water cylinder using an Eddi solar diverter or stored in a battery for self-consumption during evening or night hours. Additionally, a boost button on the Eddi allows manual control of the immersion for hot water.
